Our Story
Like many great adventures, this one started small. I first picked up my pliers in 2014 to make a chain maille dice bag for myself. Before long, my kids wanted their own, then my friends, and pretty soon I was making them for just about anyone who asked.
What began as a single handmade dice bag grew into a full-blown passion project. Over the next five years, I expanded into jewelry, ties, and scale maille pieces—each one a new challenge, each one a little different from the last.
Along the way, I’ve had the joy of crafting a wide variety of custom creations for people of all types and sizes. From everyday wearables to bold statement pieces, I’ve loved bringing unique visions to life.
These days, I specialize in custom inlay work and forge with an arsenal of materials: the strength of steel, the warmth of copper, bronze, and brass, the lightweight brilliance of anodized aluminum, and the rare shimmer of titanium and niobium.
What started as a fun project for myself has grown into something much bigger—a way to share craftsmanship, creativity, and a little bit of geeky flair with fellow adventurers everywhere.
Meet the Maker
I grew up in a small town in Ontario, where creativity was part of everyday life. My grandfather first introduced me to craftsmanship through woodcarving, which he taught in weekly classes, while my mom sparked my imagination with books full of fantasy and medieval stories. Those early influences shaped who I am today—a maker with one foot in history and the other in fantasy.
In high school, I discovered Dungeons & Dragons, and that opened up a whole new world. I wanted a dice bag of my own, and when my girlfriend at the time couldn’t find one, she bought me a set of pliers and rings with a note: “Some assembly required.” Before long, I was crafting and selling chainmaille dice bags at my local gaming convention each year, and after seeing how much fellow adventurers loved them at the table, I decided to share them with the world. From there, my passion for chainmaille only grew. With a constant need to learn, I branched into ties, jewelry, belts and even a full maille shirt.
These days, Geek Maille is my way of blending artistry with fandom. I’ve always had a fascination with dragons and mythological beasts, and when I’m not weaving rings, you’ll often find me enjoying a game of D&D or Magic: The Gathering.
